BioSapiens DAS network is online...

The alpha version of the Distributed Annotation System of the BioSapiens EU network of excellence is now online and freely accessible from the BioSapiens DAS portal or any DAS client.
The objective of the BioSapiens EU network of excellence is to provide a large scale, concerted effort to annotate genome data by laboratories distributed around Europe, using both informatics tools and input from experimentalists, with a special attention to the human genome.
BioDec engineered and co-develops the transmem_pred annotation server, which provides predictions about genes in the Human genome that may encode for all-alpha transmembrane proteins.
The transmem_pred annotation server is built upon:
- the Proserver DAS server
- the PostgreSQL DBMS
- the Plone content management system
and it can also be queried through its own web interface.
