TargetHerpes is an EU funded STREP project between BioDec and other eight participants.

The main objectives of the projects are the following:

• Identify herpesviral and cellular molecular targets for the rational design of intervention strategies
• Define lead compounds that can be further developed into anti-herpetic therapeutics.

The main focus will be on:

• mimetics or antagonist peptides to target molecules,
• silencing of the viral and cellular target molecules by means of siRNAs or shRNAs.

BioDec will be the bioinformatics provider of the project.
